December 9, 2001 was the anniversary of Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner's murder. On that date a 15 by 18 inch plaque was dedicated honoring the fallen officer. The plaque was covered by a red, white and blue shroud until a blessing, and formal dedication.

James Binns, owner of the Globar Restaurant at 13th and Locust, acted as emcee for a ceremony dedicating a plaque honoring Police Officer Daniel Faulkner. Faulkner was murdered 20 years earlier at the exact site the plaque was placed.
